It is not a sign the USB is undamaged. I'll work with your original statement for now. If it's a software issue you can reload the OS and it will work again.

http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4175 shows it has an Expresscard 54 slot.

Here's some USB cards for that.

https://www.google.com/search?q=ExpressCard+54mm&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&client=seamonkey-a#q=ExpressCard+54mm+usb+2.0&hl=en&safe=off&client=seamonkey-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&prmd=imvns&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=_7GyTtNh4ueIAsns0Uo&ved=0CHQQrQQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=a88196fa830a7663&biw=1366&bih=589

I'd try the 10 to 20 dollar cards.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
