Due to a bad soundcard I have to use an external USB soundcard on my laptop. Unfortunately it tends to unplug easily so there is a lot of plugging/unplugging (I know this is bad and I should get an extender cable, but too late now).
Recently, when I plug the USB device in, my computer says "USB Device Not Recognized". It had been working fine for weeks before.
I have tried uninstalling my all the "USB Root Hubs" in the device manager (including the one called "unknown device).
I have also tried turning off my computer, unplugging and taking out the battery for 30min.
Adding hardware in Control panels does not work either.
Any advice would be greaty appricated!
thanks!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
