Question

USB flash drive keeps corrupting?

Jul 7, 2017 6:07AM PDT

Good day, I am having a problem with a 1TB flash drive I have.

I'm running Windows 10 and it seems that the system doesn't want to read the flash drive, because when I plug it in, this error comes up: "You need to format the disk in drive L: before you can use it." I click format, since it has no content. The problem is that it does this everytime I plug the flash drive back in after ejecting it. It's just a cycle of formatting and formatting and I can't store anything in here if it keeps doing this.

Also, when I eject the flash drive, it doesn't look like it was completely ejected. The icon looks like this:

I would also like to mention that the drive worked totally fine when I tried it on another laptop running Windows as well, so I assume it's something in my system that is causing this.

Would anyone have a solution on how to fix it? Any kind of help is appreciated. Thank you!

You bought this on EBay for a very great price? Google "Fake Flash, EBay"

...to get it straightened out. It seems to be a CNET issue because no other site I visit causes this in FF.

Hope this helps.
