Question

USB flash drive files were deleted without backups

Nov 13, 2014 10:23AM PST

USB flash drive was formatted yesterday since there is a RAW file system problem and drive needed to be formatted immediately. However, everything went so quickly that I had forgotten all my files stored on this drive. These files were made for my job presentations and had been prepared for nearly one week. But, they all were lost. Do you have similar experience? What can you share with me to get these files back? Does data recovery software really work?

However there are so many different kinds of damage that we only lose what we don't backup. (natch!)

You found the right forum and at the top we have a sticky with the usual titles I use that have worked most of the time but if this can't be lost, why not drivesavers.com?

Answer
It can be recovered

Yes. There are programs to recover files on flash drives and SD cards.

Some are paid but the trick is finding free programs. Try Tucows for free software.
