USB firmware

Feb 25, 2005 7:51AM PST

Hi,
I have a thinkpad t22 laptop which is pretty old, now it came with a usb 1.1 port, a friend of mine told me that he sucesfully managed to upgrade his usb ports to 2.0 with a firmware update. I was wondering if this was at all possible and if so how would i go about doing this?

If it was USB 1.1 hardware, there is NO SUCH THING.

But you can look over http://www.usbman.com for almost all is known abotu USB.

But there is no firmware update to turn USB 1.1 into 2.0.

A small urban legend was created way back when XP rolled out. XP only had USB 1.1 support. With SP1, the machines that had USB 2.0 hardware finally were able to use the USB 2.0 speed. But that was simply because the OS caught up and no firmware was involved.
