There's a product called "PC Clone" that does this and I'm sure others. IMHO, if you got some method already be happy. Going for a faster method while desirable usually entails some other needs as to what they are, don't pop-up until you try it. ha! All in all, look into "laplink" tranfers and go from there via google. Maybe "ghosting" could resolve the transfer but again since really you're looking to the h/w side rather than s/w stick with what you got.

After my exams i plan to re-format my hard drive and, as i have done this before, I know the most arguous task is waiting to backup the data. I use my sister's desktop to backup my stuff and i orgionally used a 100Mbps etheret connection to transfer the files, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to sucessfully transfer files through a USB to USB connection as it is about 4 times faster?
