USB ASPECT RATIO PROBLEMS NOW FIXED

by ganumor / February 6, 2010 7:38 AM PST

It is now possible to play video files recorded from TV at correct aspect ratio using the USB Media Play facility by using a small software update.

Please go to the following thread for more details:

http://forums.cnet.com/5208-13973_102-0.html?threadID=348673&start=90&tag=forum-w;forums06

This software update does not change the firmware and can be used as a temporary measure when this facility is needed. It gives many more options to the Tools/Picture Size functions. When the TV is switched off the functions will revert to normal.

ganumor,

It's also regional specific (presumably UK?), and not authorized by Samsung.

Use at your own risk.

Is there an official Samsung fix for this yet
by sasha1966 / May 25, 2011 10:57 PM PDT

I have just bought an LE46C750 TV with Medi@2.0. I have seen many posts on various sites related to aspect ratio control when playing video content from USB. I have over 200 DVDs backed up via Handbrake (MKV) with anamorphic settings. They play perfectly ok on a pc but on the Tv the AR is wrong. Do i have to re-encode all my DVDs at a fixed AR by losing some vertical resolution or do Samsung have a fix for this. An official enquiry is still being investigated but i'm not holding my breath.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
