USB and Joystick

Apr 24, 2005 2:40AM PDT

Hello i am a new user and i'm in distress.
I have just got a new computer (ibm think center) and when i plug in my joy stick it says that there has been a power surge. Is there any way to fix this. I would rather if there is a way to fix it without having to buy somthing.

Thank you to whoever can help.

It's a known driver bug.

Your new machine needs a new driver to either ignore or fix the issue.

Well discussed.

It's some IBM so that would be ibm.com

Wish there was more to work with but the issue is very well known and most makers have patched it up.

Looks like you have to...

You'll have to buy an external USB hub with it's own power supply (also called a 'Powered Hub'). Plug the hub into a spare USB port, connect the hub to the supply with the supplied cable, now plug the devices into the hub. The devices will now draw power from the mains and not from the internal hub.
