While installing linux, I need the mouse to make some choices, BUT, I have a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard, and the USB driver is not loaded at that time of installation, making me unable to make the choices. Is there a way around this ?

In an old version of Linux. Suse 9.2 does load USB support for mice and keyboard so its a non-issue with that distro (you didn't share which you tried!)

If you don't get the mouse working or plug in a PS2 mouse for install then use the tab key to get to the box to press it with enter.

From memory the tab, shift-tab, control-tab, alt-tab, spacebar, enter key for navigation and button pressing did work.

A PS2 mouse would be an easy cheap fix...

You are so right about the PS2 mouse, but what fun is there in a mouse with tale :-). The problem is also in the dual boot ( Windows XP)
