Can I use Seagate 120 GB, 7200 rpm external USB2 hard drive (with seperate power supply unit) with Dell Inspiron B 130 Note Book without harming the performance of the Note book ?

Thanks in advance.

When we add another drive, the OS will slow a little as Windows will take a look at the drive during boot and during other operations. Whether this is harm or not is something you'll have to decide if it's worth the extra split seconds as Explorer and other applications open.

Nothing abnormal about it, but you should be aware that there is some impact.
