USB 2.0

Feb 20, 2004 11:03PM PST

I was wondering if it is possible to change the usb ports on my laptop to 2.0. I have Windows Xp running on it. I'm not sure what is involved. Is this an easy process or not? Thanks

You can't change the ports on your laptop, you could buy an external USB PC card to go into the PCMCIA slot. You can buy one that will support USB 2.0.

The only problem with that is I have my wireless card in the PCMCIA slot and I only have one of them on my computer. Thanks for your help.

You can fix this easily by changing to some USB Wifi dongle.

A lot of laptops have two (2) slots. One over the other. I have a Toshiba with dual/double slots and have a wireless card and a USB card "stacked" with the USB card on top and both slid in. They both work perfectly, together. Gordo
