US Airways Flight 1549 Pilot and Crew: You rock!

by Slikkster / January 15, 2009 6:18 AM PST

Obviously all the details aren't in as I write this about 1 hour and 45 minutes after this plane went down in the Hudson River. But to bring down a fully loaded Airbus in a river on a frigid day and have everyone get out safely? Unbelievable! Props galore for that!

Soo glad that the landing was "workable" - seems like they had a gradual entry into the river with a big splash impact at the end. Not much panic on the passengers part either.

Latest news I'm seeing is that there were bird strikes that probably took out the engines.

As they say, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing...

Best,
Shalin

He was amazing because he knew what to do and he executed his responsibilities without panic. He is the true hero and the reason why this plane landed ON WATER without a shudder. The rest, including that wonderful crew, those brave passangers and the quick thinking rescue teams just followed the New York standard of excellence of calm under extreme pressure. You make me proud to be a New Yorker. Mira

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
