Urgent, need help as I am going to replace Ram today

Jan 7, 2015 9:01PM PST

I need to know if this issue is a Ram issue, I have already replaced hard drive and reformatted and the issue is still present.
The issue I am having is at random points, I could be watching a YouTube video, opening a program, or just browsing the Web, and it happens sometimes once a week or 4 times a day where the computer screen will go completely garbled and distorted and then crash to a blue screen, I will also have random programs fail and restart for no reason. I can include info from blue screen - the heading on the blue screen says MEMORY MANAGEMENT. any info would help me greatly before I waste more money on this laptop
Acer Aspire 7560-7657

Did you run the memory diagnostics? Therre might be a specific diagnostic from Acer (check the user manual). If not, download memtest86 (free).

It could be a RAM issue. It could be a motherboard issue. But it was so unlikely that it was a hard disk error, that I don't understand why you started spending money on that.

Use Live DVD, some linux version

Get one that has Firefox and flash already on it. Also each time you boot from it, go to the youtube html5 page and choose it. If it never happens while using the Live DVD, then it's a software issue. If it still happens, then you have a hardware issue.

Have you run any anti-virus programs? I think your computer symptoms result from virus infection. When my computer crashes or system death frequently, I will run some online scan if I do not have a security tool. You can try it.
