Hi everyone, I am in dire need of help... really. I have a computer for my clinic and apparently after downloading an update from windows update, after the restart, after the windows logging on screen, an error message appears telling me that there's a problem with the file "kernel32.dll." So of course I cannot use the computer after that, for none of the programs or start bar for that matter appear... on another computer after continuos research on the problem, I read several articles containing info on how to "repair it." i.e. by booting from windows xp (unfortunately I did not creat a boot disk) and from there repairing it by renaming the kernel32.dll file to kernel32.old and expanding the original kernel file from the windows xp cd. After I get the message file expanded, I type in exit as so and whether or not i remove cd, the computer continuosly restarts... this has been going on overnight now and I really need to get this fixed because of course being a clinic comp a lot of important files are stored on it. I have del the kernel32.old file and redid the entire process... again my efforts are to no avail... please if anyone can help me asap I would greatly greatly appreciate it.
