uploading video: help!

Apr 14, 2005 7:44AM PDT

I have an HP Photosmart 620 digital camera and am having trouble uploading video. It uploads my images without a problem but doesn't seem to recognize there is video to be uploaded. I've read the manual several times to no avail and this concern isn't covered in the troubleshooting guide. Can anyone help me?

The problem lies with the software you are using with the camera.

It may be helpful to someone if you let us know what software you are using to upload to the computer.

Oh yes, and what operating system do you have on the computer. (Windows XP, ME, 98)?

What a novice I am! The software I'm using came with the camera and I have Windows XP. Should I uninstall the software and then reinstall it? Why is it giving me such trouble? I thought once you installed hardware on a computer that was pretty much it.

Well, I was looking for the name of the software.

I don't think you need to reinstall the software, but you need to read the documentation that came with the software.

There is a better solution to your problem:
Buy a card reader that can read your type of camera memory card.

Just plug it into your computer's USB port and Windows XP will see the card reader as being another hard drive. Remove the card from your camera, plug it into the reader. Use Windows Explorer to move the photos and video to your computer.

You never have to connect the camera to your computer again.
