Question

Uploading video from a Samsung HMX-F90 to a Mac?

by pixar66 / July 5, 2015 5:00 PM PDT

I just got a Samsung HMX-F90 to start making small amateur movies, but I'm reading the box and it says the bundled editing software is not Mac compatible. I'm reading the manual to see if I can still upload video to Mac, but it only says that video can be uploaded to a PC. As of right now I only have a Mac at my disposal. I don't want to open the box because I'll return it if it won't work with my computer. My question is can I use a USB cable to upload video from this specific camcorder to a Mac computer without using the bundled software? I was planning on using a third party editing software, but if I can't upload the video I'll replace the camcorder.

Yes, I have a Mac and just take the memory card out of the camera, put it into my Mac and download all my videos. "

or version OSX or version iMovie. It is also highly probable that you connect the camcorder to the computer with a USB cable, put the camcorder into USB or PC mode launch iMovie and import or capture.

If that does not work, the copying the files from the memory card and using a transcoder (like HandBrake or MPEG StreamClip) to make a bore digestible MP4 or MOV file is a process step for you.
