Question

Uploading document in doc/docx

Aug 20, 2013 6:52AM PDT

Hello

I'm trying to register with a recruitment agency and am required to upload my curriulum vitae in doc/docx format with the registration form below and I have no idea how to do it:

I have my cv in Open Office document form and in the save as box, a list of possible formats appear but none is in doc/docx format.

Could anyone tell me how to do it please?
Thank you!!

That link you gave only lets me register. That's not a link to a form.

OpenOffice always should let you save in doc format, and recent versions (say, from 2011 or later) docx also. So if that filetype doesn't appear, something is very wrong with your program.
See, for example, http://www.ehow.com/how_4685581_file-as-doc-word-file.html

It seems a good moment to switcht to OpenOffice's successor: LibreOffice.

It should have

The old stand-by is using the basic Word installed with Windows. Depending on your version it certainly will save in .DOC format. I toss that out just in case push comes to shove. You should be able to import that from OpenOffice but I have always found OpenOffice to have .DOC ability. So, unless something is amiss, I don't why it couldn't do that from the format selection. -----Willy Happy

I think what the recruitment agency is saying is that they will accept your CV in either "doc" OR "docx" format - hence the slash mark: doc/docx (means either one). Some people don't have the newest Word software so they have to use the "doc" format. Some of us have new which is "docx". The agency can accept either format. I hope that helps. When in doubt call the agency and ask.
