Upgrading to new desktop, lots of info to transfer

by tele2000 / March 4, 2007 5:37 PM PST

I plan on upgrading my parent's computer to something with a lot more memory and speed. They currently have many family pictures and personal documents on the hard drive of their current computer.I believe their current hard drive is only 20GB. What's the most efficient and simple way to transfer the files to a new hard drive? CD-R? Flash drive? USB transfer? Something that they'll be able to do easily, without much fuss. I don't know much about transferring the info, so any help would be appreciated.

Burning is the easiest. . .

All other methods require software, USB transfer and maybe a flash drive.

Why not use their backup system?

We all backup so it would be simple to carry the backup copy to the new machine and restore it there.
