UPGRADING RAM

I Have a Compaq PC 6220IN of the following configuration

CPU - AMD Athlon XP 1666 MHz
Bus speed - 133 MHz
Motherboard - KM 266-8235
BIOS - Phoenix AM 37308
Memory - 128 (60nos.) DDR 133 Mhz - CL2
System - DC438A-ACJ 6220IN900
Software - Windows XP sp1

My PC runs very slow and the programs take ages to open from day one of purchase. Will upgrading my ram by another 256 MB DDR will help?
If so what RAM should I buy whether 256 MB DDR Ram with 266 MHz will be compatible along with the exsiting 128MB 133 MHz ram? (as 133 MHz rams are not readily available in the indian market)
