Upgrading my desktop computer. Mobo question.

by Urfriendlynhoodflyinas / July 4, 2010 10:01 PM PDT

How do I know if this motherboard I am about to purchase is compatible with my current hardware?

Motherboard I am about to purchase:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R, X58
Socket-1366, DDR3, ATX, USB3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16, Revision 2.0

Current hardware:
GPU - XFX GeForce 9800GT 550M 512MB PCI-Express 2.0
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz Socket LGA775
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2 16MB

I haven't listed the rest of the hardware because I am sure it is compatible. If one of you more experienced people confirmed that everything is OK it would be a major green light for me.

Thank you in advance

You need a motherboard compatible with socket 777 unless you upgrade CPU also.
