Sep 10, 2015 7:52AM PDT

I have an old Compaq Presario C500
I decided to do a few upgrades so im buying a Intel I5 430M (getting for intel HD) Processor and maxing out ram to 4gb My question is, im buying a hard drive with 80gb space. Will That put a dent in my performance at all?

Btw. Which should I upgrade first, ram or cpu

Old Specs: 2gb ram
No Hdd
Intel Celron 540M
Intel GMA 950 Graphics (Intergrated)
Hp Monitor VGA 1024*768 60hz Refresh rate

I see those CPU's require different sockets on the motherboard (Celeron 540M: PPGA478; I5-430M: BGA1288, PGA988), so i doubt if the new CPU will fit on the motherboard.

A 80 GB hard disk will perform OK, unless you want to put more that 70 GB of files on it.

C500 is a series number.
There are many models in that series.
You will need the exact model number before you can research parts.
