Upgrading Hard Drive

May 3, 2004 4:03AM PDT

I want to install Windows XP on an old laptop, but it only has a 5 GB capacity. Is it possible to install a new hard drive with a higher capacity? The laptop is a HP N3350. I ran the update advisor on Microsoft's website and the hard drive space is the only issue.

Your biggest problem is that you may not be able to find XP compatible drivers for your video, modem, sound, network card or motherboard hardware.

A check of the HP web site shows their support ends at Windows 2000. Those drivers may work with XP, or they may not. They have a link to installing XP on that system, but there is no information at all, making the likelihood of it working quite iffy.
