Hey Guys

New to the site.

I use a Mac at work but I'm wanting to know "how" and the "easiest" way to upgrade the Mac, at the minute its a "Mac OS X version 10.5.8"

They might not like it if you do it without permission. And they might tell you the 'how' also. Even better: they would do it, because this kind of maintenance is their job.

Upgrade in what way? The OS, the hardware, some other software? What are you looking to upgrade? And then we'd need some specifics about the computer itself... Mostly just whether or not it's a PPC or x86 model. The point about the company IT staff is also valid.

What do you want to upgrade to? Most conveniently you'll download from the Apple store the latest software.

The problem with that, is the App Store on OS X didn't arrive until around 10.6.3, maybe 10.6.4, but the point being it was AFTER 10.5.8 which the OP is running.
