Upgraded to Outlook 2002, No templates???

Jul 14, 2004 12:32AM PDT

My PC at work has just been upgraded from windowsNT to XP Pro, and Outlook97 to Outlook 2002.

In outlook97, you could create an email, insert (for example) 20 addresses from the company global email address book, and then save the outlook as a template.

Then each week, you could load the template, attach a weekly report, and send it to the same 20 people with out having to insert the same addresses every week.

Where has this invaluable feature been hidden in outlook 2002 ?

Just asking.

Why isn't this your IT's job?

And yes, Outlook drops features as the versions roll up. Some now require Exchange Server and some we find new ways.

The IT department are good, but they have just a few holes in their knowledge, and this is one of them.

I think the answer is something to do with custom groups, but I can't remember how to do it.

If all you need to do is to drop an email to a list of people, then a mailing list or group might be fine. Sometimes a persons want-list or AKA "requirements" exceed that and I have to resort to custom applications.

Look up SLIPSTICK on Google and much that is known about Outlook is in there plus tools.
