I'd look at two areas.
1. Office Update. Hint: Take the updates.
2. Windows Update. Hint: take the critical updates. Never accept a Microsoft driver.
Also, a look at the EVENT VIEWER would be interesting once you clear it and wait for that error to happen again. Since EVENT VIEWER is in the Start, Help and Support, I will not duplicate what it is here.

Upgraded XP Home to XP Professional AND Office 2000 to Office 2003 on my Dell Inspiron 8600 Pentium, 1.50 MHz, 1.00 G Ram. I am now getting constant MS Office ERROR window popping up that "MS Word, Excel, Outlook (whichever program I have opened) has encountered an error and must close." Do I want to send a report? I send the report, the program closes --- then reopens (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the loop begins again. I have searched through the knowledge base and read many articles relating to this error message. I have tried runnning the "repair" on MS Office 2003 in the ADD/REMOVE Program area, but to no avail. I'm sorry to say I don't know whether it's related to the upgrade of XP home to professional or Office 2000 to 2003. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
