Upgrade Windows ME to XP

How hard will it be to upgrade windows ME to XP. I bought the unopened disc on ebay. Can I do it myself? What problems might I encounter? I used Microsoft Upgrade Advisor and everything checks out OK.
I have a Dell Dimension 4100

Should not be a problem to upgrade.
Read everything twice before hitting enter.

Backup all your existing data files first.

None of the programs you might have purchased and loaded in ME will be there after you finish, so go and find the original disks before you start. They will have to be reloaded or replaced.

You may need to reload your internet provider disks (e.g. AOL or MSN or whatever you use) to get connected back up.

Be sure to install service pack 2 with all the security features.

Good luck.

Belarc before you wipe out the information on your hard drive. I'd suggest you print out the results. It will list everything installed on your computer including products key numbers and hardware. This might come in handy when you start reinstalling everything. Make sure you have the installation disks for your software. If you don't have a resource CD with the drivers for your hardware, download them for installation later.
