Upgrade to Windows 7

Nov 23, 2009 5:52AM PST

I'm ready to upgrade my Vista Home Premium 64X to Windows 7 On my Gateway P-7805u Notebook. CPU is dual core 2.26, ram is 4gig DDR3, HD is 320gig. (should be enough info) Any hints, suggestions, or problems I should be aware of before I take the plunge? Thanks for any info...Chuck

I hesitate because Gateway, in it's infinite wisdom, not only didn't include a restore disk. The gateway option for a factory restore on my OS doesn't work with Vista 64X either. Neat huh? Thanks again. I'll let you know how I made out..hopefully!

We can fix that.

I use CLONEZILLA to create restore sets of DVD or on some USB hard drive.

CLONEZILLA is scary to some but I use it and never read the manuals.

One more quick question (maybe)

Since I''m upgrading from Vista to Win 7, if I should have a major crash after the upgrade, would I have to start over by first re-installing Vista and then do the upgrade again? Thanks, Chuck
