Upgrade to Win XP & Bios update

Jan 7, 2005 3:46AM PST

Hi. I'm looking to upgrade my Windows version to XP. After I used the update advicer by PC Pitstop, it suggested that I upgrade my BIOS. Can somebody tell me where I can find out the version of my bios and how I can upgrade it? Thanks, John

BIOS Update

John:
When you start up your computer it will do a memory check and there should be an instruction at the bottom of the page, maybe press the Esc key, to enter the BIOS. The main page will tell the version of the BIOS.
I would first go to the HP website customer care area and print the instructions for updating the BIOS for your model. It will tell you to create a boot disk, how to, and how to update the BIOS.
Good luck - I am trying to get the same thing done, but am getting stuck at the DOS command step.

Joe
