Question

upgrade Mac X 10.4.11 to new version

Aug 4, 2011 7:16AM PDT

Can I upgrade Mac X 10.4.11 from a safari download? I see one offered in Torrent, but what about from Mac? If I have to buy the upgrade, where and how?
What do I upgrade to? Lion? Which upgrade would do best. I can't even update my iphone till I update my itunes and I can't update itunes till I update Operating System.
Of course, I am not so computuer savvy and I couldn't see an answer already shown?!
Thanks, Evlie

I see at least two problems with your post.

First, you don't tell us what type of Mac you have, so we can't tell you if it's even capable of running Lion, though anything old enough to have shipped with 10.4 probably shouldn't without some serious upgrading.

Second, you mention getting Lion from a torrent, which would be considered software piracy. Such things are not permitted to be discussed here. Besides, it's only $30, not like the $300 or whatever it is MS wants for the full retail version of Windows 7. If you can't afford $30 for the OS, then you probably can't afford the upgrades to the system that'd be necessary to make it run with an acceptable level of performance. Which is assuming your system is on the supported list for Lion, and if it shipped with 10.4, the odds aren't in your favor. If you upgraded to 10.4, then you absolutely will not be able to run Lion or anything past 10.5.
