Upgrade HDD in Archos MP3 players

Jan 23, 2008 12:53PM PST

Is it possible to upgrade the hard drive in the Archos MP3 players to a larger one? The largest HDD available is 160GB, I would like to double that size on the 605 WiFi model.

Upgrading HD....

Yes, you can try to upgrade the HD to something larger but that WILL negate your warranty so tread carefully and I only recommend you do this if you have experience. An easier option is to just by a portable 250gb HD that is really small. You can watch/listen to videos/music directly from it via your Archos 605. I have a 1TB external HD that I travel with that has hundreds of videos on it to pick from...as a matter of fact, it is my entire DVD movie collection. I keep adding more and more to as I rent them.
