Upgrade from os 10 4.11 to 10.5

Feb 25, 2011 11:25PM PST

My new Ipod nano requires Itunes 10 which inturn requires mac os x 10.5. My system does not have the minimum ram requirements to support Snow Lepard 10.6. Any way to get an upgrade to 10.5 without paying $200 bucks?

No, and it'd be far cheaper to just buy some additional RAM and a copy of 10.6, assuming you have an Intel based Mac. If it's a PPC system, then you're never going to get 10.6 to run anyway.

Main comp is unfortunately ppc. My Macbook Pro however is Intel. Also currently running 10.4.11. I can upgrade that strait to OS x 6 as long as I have neces RAM.

Usually, but it's not what you might call a guarantee. The upgrade process really isn't intended to work with anything other than 10.5, but I think nonetheless probably 99.9% of people have no problems. Of course some do, so make sure you have a backup of anything important.
