Question

Upgrade From Canon GL2

by mulvennk / March 22, 2016 12:13 PM PDT

Hello Everyone,

I am just wondering if someone could make some suggestions about a good camera to replace my old Canon GL2. I'd be looking in the $2,000-$3000 range. I have been using the video function of my Nikon Coolpix and thinking I need to get a new, and real video camera. Thanks!

Time to consider that the world has changed a lot here.

Thanks for the reply - and I cannot agree more. So I am pondering between XA-25, XA-30 (which is cheaper for some reason) XF-100, etc. I shoot mostly family stuff, some work projects, and Irish dance - sometimes from a distance - and then make DVDs for the families. I am reluctant to admit that I shoot on complete auto more than I should - but I am often a vacationing dad doing the "run and gun."

I was not happy when I read about the XF 100

At 2,000 bucks it's from 2010 so very dated. I may have missed it but it appears to only record 1080p at 30fps. I'd look to models newer than this.

The world has changed a lot. For example my LG G4 can do 4K video recording at 30fps. And that's a phone. Keep shopping but try to avoid those older models.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
