Question

Upgrade for my Inspiron 530s

Sep 12, 2014 2:41PM PDT

Hi all. Looking to upgrade my graphics card and PSU. What would be the minimum required upgrades for those two to play MMOs and what else would I need to upgrade if any?

Okay, I've found that through Dell, the upgrade available for this CPU is the Radeon 7750 Dual HDMI. Is there another video card that is comparable to this one? If so, I'd like a much cheaper one.

Sorry for the vagueness...

Yeah, I'm totally new to the process. Give me a car and I get it. Dell gave me a graphics card I could use but it's expensive and more than I'd really like to spend for such an older computer. I was wondering if there was a comparable card that is cheaper. Note also that this computer is capable of a max 4GB RAM according to Dell.

Is it this model?

If so, there are rarely any good upgrades to turn it into a game machine (ie, high frame rates in 2014 games.)

I guess one could look at recycling this into a big case?

If this is a small case, you may not want to upgrade a thing.

and 4Gb RAM from crucial

Be carful with these upgrades though because you can spend more than the computer's worth.
After upgrading , the computer continued to deteriorate and USB ports began to not work , later I was down to 1 USB port and had to buy a USB hub and plug everything into it and only have 1 front USB port that worked.

I soon was building a new computer but had some pretty new parts to start with...
