Question

Upgrade current pc

Nov 6, 2018 6:59AM PST

Hey guys my current system has finally died. My motherboard went out so it is time to upgrade. I plan to use all that I can from this system but will be upgrading my motherboard, cpu, and ram. I know I will get the Ryzen 2600 as I am waiting for the 3rd Gen processors before i do a complete redo. But where I need help is the motherboard, I'm thinking Rog Strix B450 or Gaming Pro Carbon AC. Also what ram is recommended?
My current setup is as follows

CPU: AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition
Motherboard: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
Ram: Crucial ddr3 1333my
PSU: Corsair TX650
GPU: Dual XFX RX 480 XXX in crossfire
Case: Azza Hurrican 2000
SSD/HDD: Samsung Evo 500GB and 4TB WD Caviar Blue
OS: Windows 10 64bit

You won't know until that cpu hits the market and the reviews come out.

It may be a mobo that is already on the market with a bios update or not.

The cpu has been out for months now, just trying to decide between the two motherboards and ram

Are you talking about the 2nd gen or the 3rd gen.

You said you were waiting for the 3rd gen and those are not out yet.

Pick one that has the features you want and the cpu is on the support list.

Ram looks like ddr4@2933 is native speed for that cpu.

Hello,

if you want you can test the drive with the diagnostic software of the manufacturer. So you can be sure that the drive is still great to go. Happy
