That's bad news. The good news is that Microsoft will sell you the replacement media for a fraction of the cost of the full OS so at least that's cheaper.
Bob
last night i recieved an update from microsoft that i was to install the latest updates. i continued as i usually would. i was then told i needed to restart for the updates to take effect. i continued as usual. when the computer was restarting it got to the login screen where it said "configuring updates". then it said shutting down. i thought that was wierd but i let it go to see what would happen. it restarted again and did the exact same thing. i cannot login into my computer at all because it continiously restarts itself before i get a chance to do anything. ive tried safe mode and last knows good configuration but it still attempts to configure the updates. i no longer have the vista disc to repair the OS. i think there was 7-8 updates, but i have no idea what they were for. as i said earlier ive never had problems with this before so i thought nothing of it.
i had some spyware about a week ago that i got rid of. i dont know if that has anything to do with it or not. thought i would tell you in case it did.
