updating ram

I have a Sony vaioPCV-RX270DS 133SDRam. 128MB...
Currently it has 128 ram, I want to upgrade to 512 which it says I can expand to that size. What I want to know is should I leave the 128 in the computer when I insert the 512 or should I take it out?

If you new module is 512, and that's the maximum supported, pull the 128 first.
