Ok what's the deal? I am not even sure this is the right FORUM or place to post, but here I go anyway.
CNET it's a tech website right? I've been a member since 2004 and have had minor disagreements with reviews and such in the past. But seriously?!? What's the deal with the nightmare that I have been experiencing over the last 2-3 weeks? When I go to update my profile email address etc., (because I want to receive this great information, savings and reviews; right?!?!) I can't even change any thing on my profile especially my email. It appears that EVERY LINK that allows me to update my profile is NON FUNCTIONAL? Really?!? Angry

Ok I know that I just build computers, am a mild geek, a researcher, own my own company, so I might well be missing something here, right? Confused

So if anyone has some insight before I totally pull my hair out ( by the way I am bald already!) and shoot my self to put my self out of my misery because a major TECH company does not have a website that you can actually update your profile, I am reaching out for help here.
Please help me before I am forced to get my tech news, savings and reviews from one of your esteemed competitors!

From what it sounds like, something is preventing the pages JavaScript from executing.

Is it possible that you are running any sort of add on/extension in your browsers ie: adblocker, ublock etc... that maybe blocking our sites Javascript? Without JavaScript running many functionality and features will not work.

If that's not the case, can you tell me what computer/device and OS you are using?

Thanks in advance for that information.

Thank you so much for the info. You saved my CNET Life! Happy

Some how in my IE Add-Ons there was an ad block software. I deleted it and uninstalled and reinstalled JAVA. Not sure which one specifically did it or made it possible but it worked!!
Thank you and thank you for the education!
Yeah!! Now I can continue to enjoy my CNET Life!!

Glad it's working for you now! Please do return to your CNET Life. I love that phrase!

The culprit was most likely due to the ad blocking software disabling JavaScript. JAVA most likely was not the cause as it is a bit different that JavaScript which is frequently mixed up. Anyways just good to know it all worked out.

I will be moving this discussion thread to the Forum feedback forum as it is more appropriate there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
