Question

updating from iphoto '09 to '11

Apr 28, 2011 3:20AM PDT

I've been putting off purchasing iPhoto '11 to update from '09 because of problems the early updaters experienced with the library disappearing, etc. So, now with numerous updates to iPhoto '11 is it relatively safe to assume that installation of update iPhoto v. 9.1.2 would be trouble free?

Are you telling us you don't have a backup of your stuff?

back-ups

Whether I have a back-up or not is irrelevant. The question was "is it relatively safe to assume that installation of of update iPhoto v. 9.1.2 would be trouble free?" <span id="INSERTION_MARKER"><span id="INSERTION_MARKER"><span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> iPhoto v. 9.0 was reportedly problematic. But, to answer your question, yes, I have everything doubly backed up. These back-ups are my safety net for a disc crash or some other catastrophe. Not to be used as a life saver for an update that should install seamlessly.
<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">Does anyone know if this last iPhoto version 9.1.2 installs without undue stress?

No.

Sorry but given there can be problems and there is no backup then you are inviting problems.

As Hal said " It can only be attributable to human error."

I know this is not what you wanted to read but those that don't have a backup copy or plan usually learn why others talk or ask about it.

Yes, I updated iPhoto to 9.1.3 iPhoto '11 yesterday. No problems, maintained the library and vastly improved program. Easily downloaded photos from Droid X and uploaded to Facebook. Keep Smiling
