Brent, thank you and to Bob for bringing this up again. I am downloading the Personal Edition now. I wonder if this is to replace other antivirus software. Presently using AVG 7 Free and wondering if this would be a satisfactory replacement until AVG gets the bugs worked out.

Cheers!

William,

My AdAware webupdate also shows "No updated components available".

I manually downloaded the new defs from the link Marianna provided.

Thanks Brent, I may check it out, but don't think I've ever manually installed any updates in all the time I've run AA.

I was getting the same thing with webupdate too Bill even though the definitions had been updated, so I just did it manually from the website and it worked fine. If you haven't done that before, the help portion of Ad-Aware SE will tell you how to do it.

William, Keep Trying...
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / October 7, 2004 10:01 AM PDT

Click the "refresh" button a few times, or try clicking on the link again. I had the same problem but eventually made it. I'm guessing there's a lot of traffic.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Grif, I got error messages in Mozilla, but it instantly downloaded in SlimBrowser and the Help section in AA allowed me to unzip it directly to the proper location.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
