Netscape 8.0

In reply to: Netscape Browser Version 8.0

Roddy, my wife uses Netscape 7.2 and also netscape for her email client. I downloaded and installed 8.0 OK but it also left 7.2. Bigger problem is that it didn't transfer her Netscape email folders nor her address book. So at this point I am leaving 7.2 for her. Any suggestions?

I have never used Netscape Auggie but

In reply to: Netscape 8.0

I would think there would be something in the options for importing or exporting things from one to the other. Then once you get it all tranfered, uninstall the old one. Did you check the whole netscape website out to see if there was a way to update and overwrite the old one instead of just installing it seperate?

Netscape email

In reply to: I have never used Netscape Auggie but

Roddy, when I opened Netscape a screen came up saying that I needed an update. So I downloaded an installed it. It installed in the Program files/netscape file so now there are two there. In add/remove there are Netscape 7.2 and Netscape Browser(remove only) which is the new one. For what it is worth, Netscape has not been an easy browser to update in the past. I will leave her icon on the desktop for Netscape Mail (7.2) until I can figure out what to do. It won't accept her email address which is road runner and I have to use her AOL user ID to get into mail but then it says her email address is xxxxx@netscape.com which it is not.

Roddy I think I am in the wrong forum. I will start something in Browsers. For what it is worth, I just exported the addess book from 7.2 to a file but when I tried to import it into 8.0 I got a message to contact Netscape Tech support. It was saved as a comma separated cvs file as instructed. Had similar problems when I went from 7.0 to 7.1

In reply to: (NT) FINALLY got it, thanks Roddy

CoU is Calendar of Updates which is one of Donna's websites and started out mainly as an update website. I think that MOST of these programs, MSAS, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, NAV, AVG and even Windows Updates get swamped when the updates first come out so if it happens to be a program that use myself (which happens to be many for test purposes), I usually wait until I'm successful myself with the update before I actually post it. Sometimes I've had to wait 2 hours before I post an update even though I know that it is SUPPOSED to be there. This way there is not as much confusion (sometimes).
