Microsoft Antispyware BETA 1 defs #5813
- Collapse -
I thought

MSAS was discontinued and replaced with Windows Defender.

Or is MSAS still available and can be run together with Windows Defender??

- Collapse -
Microsoft changed their mind about

that because of complaints so they are phasing MSAS out gradually instead. MSAS is no longer available from Microsoft although you might be able to find it elsewhere. Running them together would be kind of redundant because they do the same things, Defender is just the updated version and the updater even works correctly LOL

BTW, I posted an update for Defender late last night in yesterday's updates thread in case you didn't see that.

saw it thanks.

and thanks for the heads up.

this is almost as confusing as Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express used to be.

SpySweeper Defs. #625
- Collapse -
Are you sure there's a new #625 update available, roddy?

I tried getting #625 definition update several times, and was told that my definitions (#624) are up to date.

- Collapse -
It seems that some people are

getting this and some aren't. My best guess whould be that the updates server went down before everybody got it. I don't use the program myself though. If I see any more reports one way or the other in one of my other forums, I will post it here Harv.

V625 Definitions

Hi Roddy,

As a Spysweeper user, Sometimes I seem to be ahead of you on the spysweeper definition updates (Correct me if I'm wrong, I think you use Castlecops as your information source here about Spysweeper updates) BUT today & before today the NEW definitions were available and it took me hours to actually get them, some days I'm ahead & some days I'm hours behind

Steve
