Heads up
Jul 30, 2016 5:17PM PDT

This build will install or try to install a browser add-on called safeprice.
The only way to get rid of the thing is to use add/remove.

This build will disable windows defender...group policy I think.... which makes sense if your using w8 or above.
If your using w7 it's a little questionable.

Thanks for pointing it out. I thought to in the OP.. but didn't. Sad

There's more about Safeprice at the Avast Support Forum. Specifically the thread (BRAND NEW VERSION: 12.2.2276) referenced in the OP.

Some users experienced another issue ...
YOU ARE UNPROTECTED. avast background service is not running

According to an update in a post by a Team Member, the above issue was fixed yesterday. He states ...

'This is now fixed. All fresh installations are OK from now on.
For existing affected users, if it doesn't update automatically, the fastest way to fix it is to run C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastEmUpdate.exe and then reboot.
'

Thanks again for the heads up!
