New virus signature files for F-Prot Antivirus
by Marianna Schmudlach / August 16, 2004 12:20 AM PDT

New virus signature files for F-Prot Antivirus have been
released. These files are dated 16 August 2004 and contain
detection for W32/Mydoom.R@mm and other new threats.

Tip: As most users set the Updater to download new virus
signature files on the hour (e.g. 9:00 or 16:00) you can
avoid the heaviest download traffic and optimize your
download speed by setting the Updater starting time to any
number of minutes past the hour (e.g. 9:17 or 15:33).

Regarding this post: http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=33233&messageID=384041
You indicate 3115 items. I check for updates weekly for Spywareblaster, and sometimes seems to be downloading something, then says "Update Successful".
Still I only see 3022 Items in database. Thought something was wrong, so uninstalled, and reinstalled SBlaster. Checked for updates, and still 3022.
Hoping you can bail me out again here Happy

Ray - there are NO dumb questions !
by Marianna Schmudlach / August 19, 2004 9:08 AM PDT

3115 items is for win98 and winme - it is very well possible xp and 2000 have a different number ...... let's see if someone shows up who has XP - as I 'assume" you have XP - right??

If nobody appears - will have to find someone here who has XP as my daughter has my XP at the moment Sad

I check for updates at least once a week, and as mentioned, "something" appears to download, then says "Update Sucessful".
Sorry for omitting my OS, which is XP Home.
In the SpywareBlaster folder a file named sbversion.txt appears, with the date of current update download, but my items in database remain at
3022.
Is there anything I need to do after downloading updates? Reboot makes no difference.
All items are enabled, including Firefox.

Go into your SpywareBlaster folder - can you see:

sbdatabase.dtb 267 KB DTB file 07.07.2004
sbdatabase2.dtb 89 KB DTB file 16.08.2004

I hope, I don't get you "confused" as I also have HJT Helper in here...... Sad

Maybe someonelse can help out here which ones they have IN their SB folder LOL

In my SB folder:

ckdatabse.dtb 37 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
rsdatabase.dtb 293 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
sbdatabase.dtb 266 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
sbdatabase2.dtb 88.4 KB DTB file 16/08/2004

sbversion.txt file is the same as Marianna has posted.

Using Win2000, shows 3115 items in database.

Mine show:
ckdatabase.dtb 38 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
rsdatabase.dtb 294 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
sbdatabase.dtb 267 KB DTB file 07/07/2004
sbdatabase2.dtb 62 KB DTB file 07/07/2004

sbversion.txt 1KB 08/20/2004

Also to mention when I check for updates, the "apparent" download only lasts 6 or 7 seconds. I did try uninstalling, and reinstalling a new download
of Spyware blaster, but same results.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
