Drivers do not wear out. Be sure to have a plan to go back if you update and fail.

Also, many driver finders are money scams.

-> Why update a driver when it works?

Yes, there could be a security issue but some drivers are to add support for a new wifi card and well, you don't have that new wifi card.

Answer
How to update your wireless drivers
May 22, 2014 4:54AM PDT

First you need to know what wireless drivers you have.

Go go Start > in the Search box type in Device Manager and press Enter > Open Network Adapters and find what your wireless adapter is

Now go online to the manufacturer's site. There should be a search function on the website. Put the model info into the search box and find the latest driver.

Once you've downloaded it, it may be an .exe file. If so just double click the driver and it will automatically install. If it's not an .exe file then go back to Device Manager and double click on your wireless adapter. In the window that pops up you want to go to the "Driver tab." Then you wan to "Update Driver," then "Browse." Point your computer to where the driver downloaded to and tell it to install.

You may want to reboot after updating your driver, but that's how you do it.
