Question

Update not installing...

May 10, 2018 7:08AM PDT

'2018-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4093112)'

Its Current Status is 'Awaiting Restart', but it is still there every-time I shut-down or restart.

Any tips or advice regarding fixing this?

We had such on another KB and I lucked out and saw the PC. A flash of the screen said something about chkdsk so I knew what to do next. Fixed a few more over this. BE AWARE I am not telling you it will fix yours as so many PCs have malware or overreaching antivirus suites.

What we did:
1. Opened a cmd prompt.
2. Typed CHDKSK C: /F /R /X and answered yes to the questions.
3. repeated item 2 on all drive letters.
4. Rebooted and let chkdsk do its work.

One more reboot and the KB installed.

Go figure.
