update LED TV to the firmware of another region

Nov 7, 2009 4:43AM PST

I have a series 8 LED TV, UA46B8000XR. The TV currently has the latest firmware for its model. However I think that samsung is not going to update its firmware for all of the regions with the same pace.
So I was wondering if I could install a UN46B8000 firmware on my device.
I already know that the ideal condition is to install a firmware from the same region where the TV is currently in. But as long as the OSD menus still contain English, I will go for newer firmware for bugfixes and more importantly, codec updates.
Also if I, for instance, install a US firmware, is it possible to revert back to the original firmware in case there is any problem?

update LED TV to the firmware of another region

popen_sarp,

Bottom line, I never - ever - EVER - recommend updating a firmware from a different region.

There are different voltage settings, broadcast tuners, and other things that may not be globally uniform, and it can break the TV.
