Question

Update Graphics Card

Jan 9, 2015 11:04AM PST

I'm looking to update my graphics card to a GeForce GTX 750Ti. I currently have an HP a6700y AMD Phenom 9150e Quad Core processor 1.8GHz running Windows Vista w/GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. Is the 750 compatible with the motherboard/power supply and will it fit in my case? PS the game I am trying to run request GeForce 8600 or higher is this an appropriate video card don't mind spending a little extra $.

I was planning on putting in a new PSU other than that will the OEM motherboard and case support the 750 graphic card?

Your mobo has a pcie slot.....looks good.
Your machine has a 300w psu......cpu 65w...gpu 65w....looks good.
Your case is a mid tower....looks good.

the game I am trying to run request GeForce 8600 or higher is this an appropriate video card
The 750 is much better than the 8600...looks good.

Thanks bob b and ahtoi, last couple questions before I make my final purchase, any recommendations on psu good quality yet relatively inexpensive? Also I found an EVGA GeForce GXT 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5, but one has one cooling fan and another with two fans and about a $33 difference. Is one better than the other?

To see if there is any difference among same design cards.

I have to hit the reviews. For example if both cards are "750 Ti 2GB GDDR5" then my bet is one might be a little quieter but performance should be nearly the same.

Not sure why you want to change that but that's your call.
Shop around in the corsair brand see if something fits your budget/needs.

Gpu.....assuming your comparing apples to apples I doubt it will make much difference.
Do what Robert said and read the reviews.
I suspect it will be an exercise in not much.
