If you get and install such an update check in both your browsers the version of Flash. You'll probably see a difference. In the one with the lowest version, update manually by downloading the latest version from adobe.com.
No need to uninstall first.

i have and use multiple browsers. i have 'Flash' and 'Shockwave' installed and have been notified of a 'Flash' update. Adobe's site is as clear as mud. They indicate a difference between 'IE' based browsers and 'others' and have a version for one or the other. They don't though, well i haven't found it if it's there, give a procedure to follow if you have multiple browsers of both types.
