Question

Update Driver/Software for Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN Card

Jul 15, 2016 4:22PM PDT

I have 3 computers that I need to update the drivers and software for them to stay connected to wifi. The trick is, they all have different operating systems. #1 - HP Pavilion a1720n with Windows Vista. #2 - HP Pavilion dm3-3011n Entertainment Notebook with Windows 7. #3 - Alienware 17R2 with Windows 8.1. I need to know the easiest way to accomplish this. I believe I'm going to upgrade #2 and #3 to Windows 10, but I will still need to update the Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN Card driver and software in order to have access to wifi and the internet. Any suggestions for a 53 year old Technologically Challenged individual?

Don't get drivers from microsoft or use a driver updater tool.

That I've never had to update that driver. Connection issues are usually not the driver unless it's something like it doesn't connect on resume.

If these are laptops and made PCs then you get the driver from the maker (HP, Dell).
