Question

update bd-p1500 or replace with newer model advice

My dads bd-p1500 has never been updated and i'm trying to determine wether I should try to update or just replace it with a newer model since they're so much cheaper and work better nowadays. His is the xaa model. Easiest way for me to update would be by usb or cd. Just wandering if it is even worth messing with. Any advice is much appreciated. Thx Mike

Thanks for your response. I decided to update and keep the unit. My dad doesn't rent a lot of movies. He told me he quit using it due to a lot of movies not getting past the previews. I used their cable modem temporarily to update. I played a 2010 movie " The Resident" with Hillary Spank and it played with no issues. I just didn't know if I needed to load prior updates or if the most current one contains all updates. Could't read the instruction pdf on my phone or fathers pc. Unless he reports having problems again we'll just keep it. Besides the slow loading and temporarily no signal it seems to play.
Thanks, Mike
